Elevance Health is shifting management across healthcare services arm Carelon and health benefits, according to a Feb. 26 news release.

Mark Kaye, executive vice president and CFO, will oversee Carelon. Peter Haytaian will no longer serve as EVP and president of Carelon, effective May 4, 2026, “to devote more time to family commitments.” He will continue as a special advisor through the end of the year to ease the transition. There had been external speculation that Mr. Haytaian would succeed CEO Gail Boudreaux.

EVP and Chief Health Benefits Officer Felicia Norwood will lead the consolidated health benefits organization, as well, unifying health benefits business lines across the company. The move aims to promote consistency with commercial and government health benefits.

All three executives were among the top five highest-earning executives at Elevance in 2024. Carelon and health benefits saw 33% and 11.2% year-over-year growth in total operating revenue in 2025, respectively.
