Lacey Bergh will serve as the market president for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota once its affiliation with Cambia Health Solutions is confirmed, according to a Jan. 13 news release.
In the role, Ms. Bergh will manage the insurer’s strategy for more than 380,000 members. She will report to the BCBS North Dakota board and Cambia’s chief commercial officer. Ms. Bergh will take over as BCBS North Dakota President and CEO Dan Conrad transitions to the chief administrative officer role at Cambia, pending the affiliation’s regulatory approval.
“Lacey has a deep grasp of North Dakota’s healthcare environment and has demonstrated success in promoting collaboration and advancing care delivery. Her experience and commitment to improved health outcomes and building strong relationships across the state position her well to take on this leadership role,” Mr. Conrad said. “As North Dakota addresses challenges related to rising care costs and limited access, particularly in rural communities, Lacey’s focus on member needs will support BCBSND’s ongoing efforts to maintain local and accessible healthcare.”
Ms. Bergh currently works as the insurer’s senior vice president of health delivery.
“This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver greater value and more solutions for our members while staying true to our commitment to local service,” she said. “I look forward to building on our legacy and driving positive change for North Dakotans.”
Cambia has plans for strategic affiliations with BCBS North Dakota and BCBS Arkansas to unify operations while maintaining a local presence. The North Dakota Insurance Department has a hearing scheduled for Jan. 20.
The news release also confirmed five other leadership transitions as BCBS North Dakota moves under Cambia’s umbrella:
- Chief Medical Officer Greg Glasner, MD, will become executive medical director.
- Executive Vice President of Government Markets and Enterprise Analytics Stacie Heiden will become vice president of integration.
- Executive Vice President and CFO Cyndee Thormodson will become senior vice president of finance.
- Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Don Campbell will become senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
- Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Benbo will become vice president of marketing.
