Gov. Katie Hobbs appointed Chuck Bassett to serve as the director of the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions, effective Jan. 12.
Mr. Bassett previously served as vice president of government relations and public policy at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona for more than 20 years, according to a Jan. 9 news release from the governor’s office. Mr. Bassett also was a member of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce Health Care and Public Affairs Committee and the Arizona Society of Healthcare Attorneys.
“I look forward to working closely with the governor’s office, policymakers, and stakeholders to improve oversight, promote transparency, protect consumers, and ensure the state’s insurance and financial services markets remain fair, competitive, and resilient,” Mr. Bassett said in the release.
