8 recent payer executive moves

Here are eight payer executive hirings and promotions Becker's has reported since Sept. 19.

  1. AmeriHealth Caritas selected David Finkel as executive vice president of specialty products and services and strategic business operations, the insurer said Sept. 26. 
  2. Centene subsidiary Delaware First Health has selected Bill Wilson to serve as plan president and CEO, the company said Sept. 26. Mr. Wilson previously served as CFO for Centene's Indiana subsidiary Managed Health Services.
  3. New York City's MetroPlusHealth promoted Lila Benayoun to chief operating officer, the insurer said Sept. 21. 
  4. St. Louis-based managed services provider Lumeris named Umar Farooq as president of Essence Healthcare, the provider's Medicare Advantage plan, Lumeris said Sept. 20. 
  5. UnitedHealth Group named Sandeep Dadlani executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer at Optum, Becker's reported Sept. 21. Mr. Dadlani joins from food manufacturer Mars. 
  6. America's Health Insurance Plans promoted Jeanette Thornton to executive vice president of public policy and strategy and named Kristine Grow as interim leader of public affairs and strategic initiatives, the organization said Sept. 19.  Ms. Thornton replaces outgoing executive vice president David Merritt. 
  7. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association tapped David Merritt as senior vice president of policy and advocacy, Becker's reported Sept. 19. Mr. Merritt will join the association from AHIP, where he leads public affairs and strategic initiatives. 
  8. Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield added two clinical quality execs, Cassie Bobbitt and Sarah Mattson, to its team Sept. 19.
