A major shake-up in Texas's Medicaid contract awards could threaten the existence of some hospital-owned plans, The Texas Tribune reported April 18. 

Florida intends to award contracts to five organizations to administer its Medicaid managed care program, which provides health coverage to more than 3.4 million people, per Florida Politics.

Michigan has awarded contracts to 9 payers to administer its managed Medicaid program, which serves nearly 2 million people across 10 regions.

Aetna's commercial and Medicare Advantage plans went out of network with Dignity Health facilities in California, Arizona and Nevada on April 4.

Nearly 600,000 New Jersey state and public school employees, along with their dependents, now have the choice to enroll in health plans offered by Aetna and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
