With the new contract, individuals enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s commercial and Medicare Advantage plans and people enrolled in TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid managed care program, will be able to get in-network access to Erlanger’s facilities and physicians, according to a news release.
UnitedHealthcare commercial and Medicare Advantage plan participants will still be able to get in-network access to Erlanger Health System without interruptions, according to a news release, and expectant mothers and children enrolled in TennCare once again have in-network access, which takes effect immediately.
Additionally, adults enrolled in TennCare will have full access to Erlanger’s facilities and physicians beginning March 1, according to the release.
Representatives said they are pleased with the new contract.
“Erlanger values its new comprehensive relationship with UnitedHealthcare and the commitment both organizations are making to improve the health of our community,” Kevin M. Spiegel, FACHE, president and CEO of Erlanger Health System, said. “We appreciate the continued trust our patients have placed in us as their healthcare provider.”
Greg Reidy, CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s employer and individual business in Tennessee, added, “Erlanger is an important regional provider of healthcare services, and this renewed relationship lays the foundation for continued collaboration with the hospital and its doctors while helping to shift Chattanooga’s healthcare system to one that rewards performance and patient outcomes. Our continued collaboration together gives individuals and families full access to critical health services throughout eastern Tennessee.”
