The Obama administration will investigate health insurance companies' prescription drug coverage and other benefits after becoming aware of "discriminatory benefit designs" that discourage people with certain conditions from enrolling in health plans, according to the New York Times.

Adults enrolled in a consumer-driven health plan are more likely than those in a traditional plan to be engaged and cost conscious about their healthcare, according to findings from a 2014 Employee Benefit Research Institute study.

Indianapolis-based health insurer WellPoint has officially changed its corporate name to Anthem, a move the company initially announced earlier this year.

At an investor's conference in New York City, UnitedHealth Group CEO Stephen Hemsley, said he projects the financial drag from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will diminish in coming years, according to a Star Tribune report.
