Medicaid work requirements on chopping block after Kentucky election

Medicaid work requirements will be among the first to go after apparent Kentucky Gov.-elect Andy Beshear, a Democrat, takes office, according to CNBC.

After his apparent victory Nov. 5, Mr. Beshear promised in his first week to roll back Medicaid work requirements and ensure 95,000 Kentuckians projected to lose the benefit don't.

In early 2018, HHS approved Kentucky's Medicaid work requirements, making it the first state to win federal support for the plan. Federal courts are currently deciding whether the work requirements should be upheld nationally.
