Health consumer engagement company Icario is launching a Medicaid redetermination service, designed at streamlining the re-enrollment process with many Medicaid beneficiaries set to lose coverage when the COVID-19 public health emergency ends.
Around 15 million people could lose Medicaid coverage when the public health emergency ends.
The redetermination service, which is available on the Icario Connect platform, aims to prevent plans from losing members with outreach and education, the company said in a Sept. 29 news release.
Troy Jelinek, chief commercial officer for Icario, said the company's platform gives plans tools to make sure their members stay covered.
"With nearly 30 percent of Medicaid members saying they either didn't receive or don't know if they received information about Medicaid redetermination, it's on plans to educate their members to maintain plan performance and, more importantly, prevent members from losing the coverage they need," Mr. Jelinek said in the news release.
