IASIS Jumps on Arizona's Insurance Exchange

Health Choice, the health insurance subsidiary of Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare, has launched several plan options on Arizona's health insurance exchange.

IASIS owns 16 acute-care hospitals, several of which are located in Arizona. IASIS also has several health plans, which include Health Choice Arizona (a Medicaid managed care plan), Health Choice Generations (a Medicare Advantage HMO) and Health Choice Preferred (an HMO based in Arizona and Utah).

IASIS President and CEO Carl Whitmer said in a news release that the company's participation on the Arizona exchange will allow it "to integrate our provider business with our managed care business in innovative ways that meet the changing healthcare needs across the country."
