Humana plans to extend its senior-focused primary care network to more cities, according to Forbes contributor Bruce Japsen.
Humana made the statement March 19 during its annual investor day presentation. To date, Humana has 233 owned, joint venture and aligned clinics. Some operate under its Conviva brand in Florida and Texas and others in its Walgreens-partnered Partners in Primary Care Clinics in Missouri.
The success of the centers, which serve 8 percent of Humana's individual Medicare Advantage enrollees across 30 markets, has led the health insurer to expand to new markets. These include Charleston, S.C., Houston and Memphis, Tenn., according to Forbes.
