Humana will exit the Employer Group Commercial Medical Products Business over the next 18 to 24 months.
The company determined after a strategic review that the business "was no longer positioned to sustainably meet the needs of commercial members over the long term or support the company's long-term strategic plans," according to a Feb. 23 news release from Humana.
The decision affects all fully insured, self-funded and federal employee health benefit medical plans, as well as associated wellness and rewards programs.
Humana said it will focus on its government-funded programs and specialty business lines as well as its CenterWell healthcare services business, according to the release.
