Consumers may be shopping for ACA plans, study finds

Almost 8 in 10 health insurance consumers who purchased their health plan through eHealth's private online marketplace shopped for coverage, according to a survey from the platform.

The survey includes interviews with 508 consumers who purchased ACA-compliant plans through eHealth.com. EHealth found consumers who aren't going to receive government subsidies next year were more likely to shop for a new plan. Forty-two percent of users who are ineligible for subsidies are looking to switch plans, compared to 35 percent of those receiving subsidies.

Consumers who are ineligible for subsidies are also a lot less happy with their monthly premiums, with only 33 percent satisfied with premiums. That's compared to 76 percent of subsidy recipients who are satisfied with their premiums.
