CMS unveils 2015 Medicare premiums and deductibles

CMS has announced Medicare Part A premiums will decrease in 2015, while Medicare Part A deductibles will increase, according to an American Hospital Association report.

The Medicare Part A deductible, which covers inpatient hospital, skilled nursing facility and home health services, will cost $1,260 in 2015, up $44 from 2014. The monthly Medicare Part A premium will decline $19 in 2015 to $407.

Both the Medicare Part B monthly premium at $104.90 and annual deductible at $147 will remain the same. Medicare Part B covers physician and hospital outpatient services, some home health services, medical supplies and other items for people over age 65.
