The Maryland Insurance Administration will finalize 2017 individual and small group premium rates after CareFirst’s revised requests and public comment is considered. A second public hearing will be held Aug. 15.
Other notable requested rate increases for individual plans in Maryland include Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna’s 30 percent, Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Foundation Health Plan’s 25 percent and Baltimore-based Evergreen Health’s 8 percent.
