COB Smart helps providers and health plans identify people with multiple forms of health insurance coverage before care is delivered, ensuring correct claims processing, according to a news release. The registry is being rolled out on a market-by-market basis and is live in 15 states so far.
Health plans that contributed to the design of the registry include Aetna, AultCare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Health Net, Horizon Healthcare Services, Kaiser Permanente, UnitedHealthcare and WellPoint.
