A joint health plan owned by Minneapolis-based Allina Health and Aetna filled out its C-suite, led by recently appointed CEO Tom Lindquist.
Here are five things to know about the newly appointed executive team:
1. Robert Wieland, MD, is CMO of the health plan. He oversees Allina Health | Aetna's care and medical management strategy. Dr. Wieland was previously chief strategy officer of Allina Health.
2. Allina Health | Aetna's CFO is Jeffrey Jacobsen. He joined the health plan from Medica, where he served as senior director of finance for its commercial market division.
3. Nichole Melton Mitchell is COO of Allina Health | Aetna. Before joining the joint health plan, she was assistant vice president of government contracts at Molina Healthcare of South Carolina.
4. Allina Health | Aetna's chief sales officer is Barry Carlson. He also joined the insurance plan from Medica, where he was the director of strategic accounts in commercial markets.
5. Britta Orr, previously a senior policy consultant at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, is Allina Health | Aetna's Medicare general manager. Allina Health | Aetna intends to offer Medicare Advantage plans in 2019.
