Six recent articles posted by Becker's Hospital Review that concern payer-provider relationships:
1. Florida Blue may drop Health First, a Rockledge, Fla.-based hospital system and insurer, from its network due to rate disagreements.
2. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield mistakenly listed WellStar Medical Group, the physician group of Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System, as a network provider for its ACA marketplace plan. The error comes after the organizations publicly feuded over WellStar's out-of-network status with Anthem's marketplace plan.
3. Humana and Seoul Medical Group, a Korean American group that includes more than 3,400 physicians, expanded their risk-based agreement in Hawaii.
4. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, which represents 36 independent Blue companies, launched a national provider network that includes healthcare providers who routinely offer high-quality care at a lower price.
5. Dallas-based Steward Health Care System will divest its managed care plans in Arizona to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. Under the deal, BCBS of Arizona will acquire Steward Health Choice Arizona.
6. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina's value-based network. Seven of the state's largest systems will be in value-based arrangements with the insurer in 2020.
