Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan and L.A. Care Health Plan will open their first jointly operated community resource center in December, the organizations said Nov. 6.
The center, located in Pomona, Calif., is part of the organizations' $146 million, five-year plan to expand care management centers to serve more than a million people. The plan was announced in September. In total, the two health plans will jointly operate 14 care management centers in Los Angeles County.
In Pomona, the 12,000-square-foot community resource center will offer visitors free exercise, nutrition and health management classes.
