The University of Utah Health will be out of network with Regence BlueCross BlueShield on July 1 if a new contract is not in place between the parties.

The Salt Lake City-based health system told KSL News on May 29 that it provides care for up to 80,000 Regence members, along with another 50,000 employees of the University of Utah and their dependents.

"Since last year, we have been working in good faith with University of Utah Health on a new contract to keep the health system, including the hospital, in our networks," Regence told KSL.

"We are committed to your health and well-being, and we are dedicated to working with Regence on finding a solution that enables us to maintain our high standards of excellence in patient care," the system wrote on its website.
